OLSAT Testing
OLSAT Testing for current 2013-2014 7th graders which will take place at Vista Verde on July 16 at 10am. The OLSAT is the Otis-Lennon School Ability Test. This test assesses student's thinking/reasoning skills using verbal, quantitative, and non-verbal communication/symbols. Students may only take the OLSAT one time each year. Testing can only be taken from 3rd grade onwards. Once a student is GATE identified this identification lasts through to 8th grade. No re-testing is necessary. Yearbooks for Sale
As we head into the final part of the year, don't forget to order your print and DVD yearbook to remember all the great times you've had here at South Lake. Quantities are limited, so pick up your order form in the front office or just print it out from here.
Remember, the yearbook is the same price, but we've been able to increase our pages from 64 to 80! We have fewer than 100 books left to sell, so order yours before it's gone!

Astounding Inventions, Astounding Inventor!
Congratulations to our own Karan S., who received first place in the Astounding Inventions competition at Irvine Valley College. His project, "GX Fusion Engine," combines the principles of an electric car and a combustion engine to produce a car with no emission of CO2. He got this idea while studying Charle's Law and Boyle's Law in science.
